I start off this entry with a random realization. When I watched the episode "Two Minutes To Midnight", and during the scenes with Death (Julian Richings), I just couldn't help but think I knew him from somewhere. Where, I just didn't know. Anyways, I will note, Death was most certainly awesome (and I'm totally listening to "Oh Death" right now, because it is awesome), with the brushing of his shoulder, and the collapsing of the man. Anyways, back to what I was saying. While I watched the parts with Death, I couldn't help but think that his face and voice were so very, very familiar, his voice especially (I like auditory things). I forgot about it for a week though, and tonight my sister got me to look it up, as she watched the episode this morning (because the prior weeks episode is on at 10.00 AM here every Thursday, which makes for quite the day). Seems he was in the show I Was a Sixth Grade Alien, which was awesome. Now, in the show, he was only in a few episodes persay, but at the same time he was a very important character. He was Pleskit's, the alien's, father, so now I can't help but picture Death with blue skin and a transparent horn coming out of his head... It's quite the image I suppose (I tried to find a picture, but alas, nothing), but I still think Death is awesome no matter what. Also, I'm sure I've seen him on other stuff, but IWASGA sticks out the most because of how much crack it was made of. I love Canadian TV shows, with their random crack they seem to have all the time. I swear, nothing we have on TV ends up serious at all, even the supposed serious shows.
I was downloading something from MegaUpload today, and the code I had to put in was PEN5... I was saddened with the lack of 1. I'm so mature, eh?
I wish I watched this before tonight's Supernatural episode, but alas, I didn't. I suppose there are spoilers in the comments there for "Swan Song" (which wound up having me sing a Kinki Kids song in my head).
I've been watching Supernatural since the end of the second season, after a co-worker lent me their copy of season one, which I watched in a week because I was hooked from the first episode (which reminds me, I asked for my season one DVDs back two weeks ago, and still, nothing, so I'm going to have to message her again, because I need them back by Tuesday... message sent!). Of course, this means the first season I watched to completion during the season was the third, which was excellent, despite the strike.
Now, this was the fifth, and I had expected it to be the last, because that was the original plan. Not that I'm not even the slightest bit happy that there is going to be a sixth, but I was expecting it to end this year. Anyways, all in all, it was quite the excellent season. I enjoyed every last bit of it, from when Lucifer's cage first opened, to the very end. It continued to be excellent, and even if a moment was weak, it was still beyond enjoyable. I'm also fond of shows that have storylines which travel through the entire show, with the unveiling of the main plot very, very slowly (a.k.a. what keeps me from enjoying things like CSI, where they are more episodic than anything), so this show makes me very happy. It might also help that I'm a fan of scary things, despite not getting scaried easily, and gaining a record for falling asleep during 'scary shows' lately, and I do love gore.
Something I've been wondering about. Does every show have an Adam who turns into some kind of villian? Buffy's Adam was the main villian of season four I believe, and then there was the episode "Adam" in Torchwood, where Adam was the main villian of that episode. Makes you wonder if Adam in CSINY will turn evil at some point, going about killing people. It seems to be a trend in everything I watch though, although I'm sure it's highly untrue and nothing to even think about. Ah well.
Now on to "Swan Song", which is quite the appropriate title, so I love the title for this episode so much. I like how all their titles fit, even when sometimes you wonder if they will when you hear them. Always giving a feel for the episode. Random particularities here:
01 I love the story of the Impala, so very, very much. I also adore Chuck when he is telling the story.
02 Sam seemed to be holding himself bigger after consuming the demon blood. I liked that they did this.
03 Misha Collins (who's episode of CSINY I have seen far too many times now, because it's always on, at least once a week, I swear, and I don't even mean to watch it, it's just there), Jim Beaver, Mark Pellegrino, Rob Benedict, and Jake Abel. I love you five so very much in this show. ♥
04 "A fiddle of gold against your soul says I'm better than you", I loved this line.
05 Sam vs. Lucy!Sam with the mirror was brilliantly done. I just love it so much.
06 Jensen was amazing in this whole episode. He has brilliant facial expression capabilities.
07 Sam and Dean are just so cute in the Impala story. Ah, their home. ♥
08 Back to where it all began. It's fitting. :)
09 "Hey, Assbut!" XD I love Cas.
10 D: Exploding Castiel. Actually, my reaction was along the lines of, "NO! CASTIEL! Wait... That was bloody well awesome though, but NO! CASTIEL!"
11 A tour through Jared's hairstyles over the years. XD I really do like that car bit, because it shows just how important she is to them, and it's something they share, and a proof of their love for each other (I will now stress, I am not a Wincest fan)
12 Jake Abel was so good in this episode. I like him.
13 Andrew Luck
14 D: Dean. My heart breaks for you.
15 Chuck, are you god?
With that ending though, if they had decided to end the show right there, I wouldn't have been upset. I do feel that the final shot was to carry over to the next season, which actually works quite well, but it was a beyond pleasing episode. I'm kind of iffy on whether I want another season or not though. I will watch the new season though, no doubt about it. Kripke is a genius, and I have now watched that episode twice tonight.
[EDIT]: Even after all this time, I still feel Dean kept getting shafted in his story line! Seriously! Could be a biased fangirl, and I am biased when it comes to Jared and Jensen. That I do admit. Also, I felt that Jared kind of got overshadowed by Jake during the Lucy vs. Michael part, which felt odd.
I will also take time to cry that killing Bobby the way they did was a total Deux Ex Machina. WHY COULDN'T HE HAVE GONE SPLODY TOO? I kind of wish Cas and Bobby both died, because in the end, only Adam technically died. D:
While I didn't watch CSI tonight, the episode title for this two parter made me giggle. "Doctor Who", and the main case is the Dr. Jekyll case. This information combined made me giggle as I left the house to go rollerblading instead, as it was a nice day.
I'm thinking of getting a video camera, because I love making random videos. I'm pretty sure my mini documentary full of sarcasm on minigolf that I made on a whim had to have been amusing, but that was a long time ago, and not my video camera. D:
I need to work on my SPN playlist...
