Possible Spoilers for Series 4 Doctor Who

The following contains an extention of a theory bouncing around [new] Doctor Who, Series 4. I was drifting in thought during my Galaxy & Universe Astronomy class (is thinking of majoring in Astronomy), and this is something I came up with.
A theory that seems to be bouncing around is that Rose will be coming through to the Doctor's world due to the world's 'merging'. What I have to wonder, is if they are colliding, what exactly will happen.
We live in a single universe that is ranged to be around 14 billion years old. It's said, by Astronomers and Cosmologists, that at the edge of the universe exists a wall of electron particles. Assuming this is actually a wall, what could be on the other side. Is it possible that is where the Parallel Universes exist. Also, a common theory is that the universe is round. The universe is also expanding, so that may have something to do with it. That being said, if the universe was expanding and was infact round, and the other universe was doing the exact same thing, a collision is most likely probable (providing the other parallel universe exists).
Anyways, what would happen if something like that happened, and they did collide/merge, I would have to assume that there is the possibility it would react something like when galaxies collide. It's often refered to a form of 'cannibalism'. They collide, and things within the galaxy either collide (the least likely occurance), don't hit anything and remain fairly spaced, or create gravitational orbits around each other. Then they turn into some kind of supergalaxy in the form of an elipse galaxy.
What I'm wondering is if the two parallel universes collided, would something like this happen? Mind you, I am not to sure the production staff is willing to go this far in an explanation, as their explanations aren't that great sometimes, though they don't break my brain most of the time, so I shouldn't complain.
What do you think?
